Michael Green shares Fundamental Physics prize

Michael Green

Professor Michael Green of DAMTP has, together with John Schwarz of California Institute of Technology, been awarded the 2014 Fundamental Physics Prize 'for opening new perspectives on quantum gravity and the unification of forces'. The $3m prize was awarded in a ceremony on 12 December at the NASA Ames Research Center near San Francisco. The Prize was set up in 2013 by Yuri Milner, a Russian investor and self-described "failed physicist" with the aim of raising the profile of leading scientists and communicating to the public the excitement of fundamental physics.
