John Hinch receives 2010 Fluid Dynamics Prize of American Physical Society
At the recent annual meeting of the Fluid Dynamics Division of the American Physical Society in Long Beach, Professor John Hinch of DAMTP was awarded the Society's 2010 Fluid Dynamics Prize. The citation reads:
"For insightful contributions - including exact results, averaging methods, scaling arguments, and approximate approaches - to suspension mechanics, free-surface flows, flow in porous media, evolution of polymers in flows, and other research topics in the flow of complex fluids.".
Professor Hinch gave a Prize Lecture at the Long Beach meeting with the title "Explaining the Flow of Elastic Liquids".
