• I was an elected member of the following University Committees:
  • the Council (01/01/17-31/12/20, also 01/01/07-31/12/14);
  • the Nominating Committee for External Members of the Council (11/05/18-30/09/21, also 01/10/15-31/12/16 and 20/06/08-30/09/11).

• I was an appointed member of the following Council Committees and Working Groups:
  • the Finance Committee (01/01/17-31/12/20),
    • and its Business Sub-Committee (07/03/18-31/12/20);
  • the Human Resources Committee (01/01/17-31/12/20);
  • the Governance Review Working Group (24/04/17-31/12/20);
  • the Pensions Advisory Group (May 2017 - December 2020, also October 2010 - December 2014).

• I served as a member of the following University Committees:
  • the Council of the School of the Physical Sciences (appointed 01/10/22-31/12/23 and 01/01/16-31/12/17, co-opted 01/01/18-31/12/20 and 01/01/08-31/12/14);
  • the Faculty Board of Mathematics (elected 01/01/24-31/12/27 and 01/01/11-31/12/14, co-opted 01/10/22-30/09/23 and 01/01/17-31/12/19).

• I served as
  • the elected Chair of the Faculty of Mathematics (01/01/11-31/12/14);
  • the ex-officio Chair of the Degree Committee of the Faculty of Mathematics (01/01/11-31/12/14).

• I served as an elected member of the following University Committee:
  • the Board of Scrutiny (01/10/01-30/09/05).

• I served as an appointed member of the following Council Committees:
  • the Business Committee (01/01/07-31/12/14);
  • the Planning and Resources Committee (01/01/11-31/12/14);
  • the Resource Management Committee (01/01/07-31/12/14);
  • the Standing Advisory Committee on Student Matters (01/01/07-31/12/08);
  • the Council Committee for the Supervision of the Student Unions (CCSSU, 01/10/11-31/12/13);
  • the Nominations Committee (01/01/07-30/09/10), which was succeeded by the Advisory Committee on Committee Membership and External Nominations.
  • the Advisory Group on the Stipend of the Vice-Chancellor (2007);
  • the Advisory Group on the Membership of the Regent House (2008) ... a Committee which [thankfully] agreed to do little;
  • the Advisory Committee on the Office of Vice-Chancellor (2009) ... a Committee which I hope made the right decision;
  • the Working Party on Grievance and Discipline (July 2010 - December 2014).

• I served as an appointed member of the following University Committees:
  • the Joint Network Management Committee (ex JTMC: 27/06/07-31/12/14);
  • the University Admissions Committee (01/10/07-30/09/13).
