Registration Form

Registration forms have been sent to invited participants and the scientific workshop is now full.

Accommodation for participants, including breakfast, has been reserved at either the Moller Centre, a four-star conference centre run by Churchill College, or lower cost student rooms in Churchill College. Please note that the student room accommodation in Churchill College is not available after the morning of Friday 11th January, as term begins shortly thereafter. Lunch will be served in the CMS cafeteria during the scientific workshop. During the Friday Symposium lunch will be served at Churchill College.

You should have indicated any dietary requirements already on the registration forms. If this is not the case, then please inform the conference secretary immediately at stephen60@amtp.cam.ac.uk.

Fees in Dollars and Euros

Outstanding accommodation and registration fees should be paid at the beginning of the workshop. Please note: in response to several queries, we have decided from today, 4th July 2001, to recommend a fixed exchange rate for those of you who would like to pay the conference fee in US Dollars or euros. This fixed rate of exchange for dollars is $1.45 USD = £1.00 GBP. The fixed rate for euros is 1.65 euros=£1.00 GBP. These are based on the current rate of conversion, which you may find on the International Currency Converter.

Both the Workshop and Symposium will be held at the new Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

Parking

We are afraid that we cannot provide parking at the CMS. There is a nearby Park & Ride on Madingley Road, about three-quarters of a mile from CMS. The site has 1000 parking spaces but does not provide long stay parking. Fares are between £ 1.20 (day return)-£ 6.50 (weekly). They can be reached at +11441 2223 321655, or by clicking here.
Delegates who are staying at the Moller Centre will have parking included with their rooms. Those who have arranged alternative accommodation may be able to arrange long-stay parking with their hotels.

Travel Arrangements

Maps and travel information are available in pdf format here.

Participants should make travel arrangements early, as late December and early January are busy travel times. The two international airports in England are Heathrow and Gatwick, both located in London. Stansted is convenient for European flights and is located just outside London and about 30 minutes bus journey from Cambridge.
Cambridge can be easily reached by coach or rail from both Heathrow and Gatwick.

Trains run between Cambridge and King's Cross, London every 30 minutes, at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. King's Cross can be easily reached by Tube from Heathrow. Those flying into Gatwick can take an Express train to Paddington where they can connect with the Tube line. Click here for a Tube map. For further information on visiting London, please see the London Information site.

Conference Banquet

John's dining hall

The conference banquet is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, 10 January. It will be held in the dining hall of St. John's College, one of Cambridge's oldest and largest colleges. Guests will be served a delicious 3 course meal, including fine wines and port from the College cellars. There will be musical entertainment following dinner.

Accommodation

Conference accommodation is reserved at Churchill College, a modern Cambridge college very close to the CMS. Participants have a choice of limited rooms in the four star conference centre, the Moller Centre, or less expensive accommodation in student rooms, which is available only until Friday morning.

The Moller Centre

NB: We are sorry to note that this accommodation is now fully booked. Participants can opt either for Churchill College rooms, or to arrange their own accommodation.

The Moller Centre is a four-star conference centre run by Churchill College and and located in very close proximity to the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. All rooms are ensuite and breakfast is provided.

The charge for a single room is £68.15 GBP per night; a supplement of £44.00 GBP per night is charged for a double-room. The number of reserved rooms in the Moller Centre is limited. Please register early if you would like this accommodation.

NB: This accommodation begins on 6th January, 2002. If you plan to arrive early, you must arrange your own accommodation until 6th January.

Churchill College Student Accommodation

Rooms are available for participants in Churchill College. All rooms are large and clean and equipped with an in room sink. The price of the room includes breakfast. Additionally, a limited number of ensuite rooms are available. Please book early if you would like one of these.

Unfortunately, this accommodation is available only through to the morning of 11 January, so if you plan to stay the night in Cambridge on the 11th, then you should arrange alternative accommodation for this night.

The charge is £42.13 GBP per night for an ordinary single; and £57.13 per night for an ensuite room.

Alternative accommodation links

We regret that we cannot arrange alternative accommodation, but the following links should prove helpful. Please note that the international country code for the UK is 44 (additionally, delete the local `01' from the Cambridge number).

Hotels

Some high-end hotels are:

But please note that the first two of these are not as conveniently situated as the Moller Centre.
