I'm a PhD student in the Ocean Dynamics group, supervised by Professor John Taylor. I am attempting to better quantify the fate of carbon in blue carbon systems such as kelp forests to work out how they could be enhanced to sequester more carbon, and to help better understand how these biological systems effect the broader ocean carbon cycle.
I am currently working on several projects including:
- Understanding the physics and biogeochemical interactions effecting carbon sequestraiton in kelp forests
- OceanBioME.jl: A flexible environment for modelling the coupled interactions between ocean biogeochemistry and physics
- Contributing to Oceananigans.jl "Julia software for fast, friendly, flexible, ocean-flavored fluid dynamics on CPUs and GPUs"
