EVENTS
Pre-registration and welcome drinks
You are urged to register for the conference and meet your colleagues on
Sunday July 14 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Centre
for Mathematical Sciences (entrance next to the Newton Institute).
Reception
A reception including drinks and snacks will take place on Monday
July 15 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Nevile's Court of Trinity
College (see location 61 on the map below).
Concert
A concert by the outstanding Endellion
String Quartet will take place in the Concert Hall starting at
8:00pm on Tuesday evening. A pre-concert light buffet will be provided from 6:30pm.

The Cavendish Laboratory has an exceptionally distinguished history.
Participants may visit the museum during the conference. This has
exhibits relating to James Clerk Maxwell, Lord Rayleigh, J.J. Thomson,
Lord Rutherford, C.T.R. Wilson, Cockroft and Walton, the Braggs, James
Chadwick, Crick and Watson and others. At 3:00 on Wednesday July 17 there will be a
lecture by Professor Malcolm Longair (Head of the Physics Department)
on the history of physics at the Cavendish. This will be followed by a
reception to mark the opening of J.J. Thomson Avenue.

The banquet will take place at Chilford Hall which is about
8 miles out of Cambridge. Buses will leave at 6:30 from Robinson College.
Buses will leave Chilford Hall for the return to Cambridge at 11:00.
