Cambridge Science Festival Maths Open Day 2024

The biennial Science Festival Maths Open Day is a joint event between the two Cambridge maths departments, DAMTP and DPMMS, attracting hundreds of enthusiastic visitors, mostly families with young children. The most recent Open Day was held on Saturday 23rd March 2024, with stalls featuring posters, demonstrations and activities from many sub-groups within CMS. The event was a great success, with ideas and contributions from various members of the atomic astrophysics group on many subjects of solar science. This included multimedia displays, posters and hands-on exhibits.

2017 edition

The event involved many members of the AFD group on a range of topics relating to astrophysical fluid dynamics, such as turbulence, sound waves, exoplanets, magnetospheres, solar activity, meteorite formation and space weather.
